Fire Codes

The City of Columbia Missouri has adopted the 2009 International Fire Code, with amendments, as published by the International Code Council.

Building and Fire Codes safeguard the public:

The building codes establish minimums for the design and construction of building and structures and their systems. Briefly these codes and their implementation provide for structural stability, adequate means of egress, a minimum acceptable level of protection to life and property from fire, light and ventilation, electrical distribution and sanitation.
