The city's Office of Cultural Affairs along with its City Council-appointed Standing Committee on Public Art is charged with implementation of the Percent for Art component of the Fire Station No. 7 construction project. Mid Missouri artist Jane Mudd was selected by the Committee for the project and is currently completing installation of her bronze relief sculpture. Its working title "In Gratitude" is intended to convey the thankfulness of a community for the safety and service that fire fighters provide. Installation should be completed in May.
