It appears that the best way to make it rain, is to try and build a new fire station. Much as the spring of 2008 when Fire Station #7 was under construction - it seems to rain every other day or so, just enough to keep the site wet and slow progress down.
After the ground breaking ceremony in early March, site plans were finalized as well as construction documents, bid bonds, and other essential paperwork to get the job started. On March 30, 2009, Little Dixie Construction and utility crews began to relocate utilities and remove dirt from the site. Throughout the month of April site work continued and a large natural gas main has been relocated, a fiber optic cable has been moved, and work continues to relocate the sanitary sewer and storm sewers that serve the neighborhood and site of the new fire station.
We'll hope for a drier month of May - but Missouri weather is very unpredictable.
