The Human Resources Department conducts a Firefighter selection process for
the Columbia Fire Department approximately every two years. This normally happens
in the spring of the year. Generally this occurs in even numbered years such as 2008, 2010, 2012, etc. However, the 2010 process has been postponed
until spring of 2013.
Applicants may submit an application prior to the process opening and will be notified when the next selection process occurs. Applicants that submit an application prior to the selection process need to make sure and keep their address and phone number up-to-date so they may be contacted when the process opens. Detailed information concerning the process, and specific requirements to apply, may be obtained through the Human Resources Department.
