Temporary Bus Driver |
Public Works | $11.00/hour | Ten (10) temporary bus drivers needed to start working immediately!! Must possess and maintain valid Class B MO CDL with passenger & airbrake endorsement and excellent driving record. Must be High School graduate or GED and have some customer service experience. Must also have some knowledge of bus operation and equipment; demonstrated substantive experience in the operation of large buses, minibuses and/or vans; considerable knowledge of motor vehicle laws, ordinances and safe driving practices, as well as the streets within the City of Columbia; knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to proper bus operation and passenger rider ship; ability to sit/drive/maneuver long wheel-based vehicles, small buses or vans for extended periods of time; ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, to write clearly and legibly, and to prepare basic records and/or reports; considerable ability to lend assistance to passengers with disabilities. Customer service experience required. All hiring will be contingent upon successful completion of a physical examination. |

Temporary Baseball Coordinator |
Parks & Recreation | $9.00/hour | Will start as soon as possible and work through July. Work hours are seasonal and flexible. During summer months, evenings are required during the week. Weekend work is a possibility. Accepting applications for the position of Recreation Worker for the City of Columbia. Must be at least 21 yrs old. Ability to: give routine instructions in games and sports; resolve player and parent disputes with firmness and impartiality; communicate with people of all age groups; run, jump, bend and stoop to participate in athletic activities; lift and carry supplies and gear, such as balls, bats, nets, etc.; and perform other duties as needed and/or assigned by supervisor. Must have knowledge of the principles, rules, material, and equipment required for a variety of recreational activities. The individual will: assume leadership role in the Douglass Bulldog Youth Baseball League; assist in organizing and running league; develop teams & schedules, coordinate practice times, recruit players, recruit volunteers for coaching & umpiring, attend games & board meetings, plan activities; assist in fundraising, purchasing of equipment/supplies; work with and report to division supervisor and league board. Must possess a current and valid Missouri Driver’s License. |
