Temporary Health/Weed Inspector	Health Department	$7.50 - $9.50/hr	Will work 40 hrs/wk, 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday, for approximately 6 months. Duties include driving throughout the City to check for weed ordinance violations; verifying information on nuisance complaint forms while on site; responding to citizen complaints regarding weeds. Additional duties may include assisting staff with mosquito larviciding activities. Requires ability to read & interpret ordinances & regulations, have excellent communication skills & be able to deal with the public, especially during sometimes adversarial situations. Able to work outdoors in & around noxious plants & other fumes during all weather conditions, including summer temps of more than 100°. Must possess valid MO Driver’s License & able to use personal vehicle for inspections (mileage to be reimbursed).	Open until Filled.
Park Assistant - Weekend Sports Turf Management	Parks & Recreation	$7.25/hr	Will perform baseball & softball grounds maintenance. Will work approximately 20-24 hrs/wk on some Friday evenings & during the day on Saturdays & Sundays on alternating weekends. Will start asap & work until mid-August. Must be at least 18 & possess valid MO Driver's License. Prior sports turf exp helpful.	Open until Filled.
Park Assistants - Golf Course & Sports Turf Maintenance	Parks & Recreation	$7.25/hr	Need 7-8 folks for Sports Turf Crew and 4-6 folks for Golf Course maintenance. Will work 7am-3:30pm, Mon-Friday for 40 hours per week, including 3 hrs on Saturday & Sunday on alternating week- ends. Will start immediately & work until November 30. Must be at least 18 yrs of age & possess valid MO Driver’s License. Prior mowing exp & able to operate tractors & pick-up trucks. Able to work in extreme heat.	Open until Filled.
Park Worker Forestry	Parks & Recreation	$7.25/hr	Several positions available. Will work 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Must be at least 18 yrs old with valid MO Driver's License.	Open until Filled.
Adult Softball Umpires	Parks & Recreation	$12.50 - $18.50/game	Must be at least 18 yrs of age & able to work April thru mid-August. Current Amateur Softball Assn certification required.	Open until Filled.
Youth Softball & Youth Baseball Umpires	Parks & Recreation	$14.50 - $18.50/game	Must be at least 18 yrs of age & able to work mid-May through July. Call HR at 874-7235 for more information.	Open until Filled.
Lifeguards	Parks & Recreation	$7.00 - $8.25/hr	Must be at least 15 yrs of age with current National Pool & Waterpark Lifeguard Training Certification required. Will work May 19 to Sept 5.	Open until Filled.
Swim Instructor	Parks & Recreation	$7.50 - $9.00/hr	Must be at least 17 yrs of age with Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification valid In Boone County. Will work May 26 to Aug 8.	Open until Filled.
Water Fitness Instructor	Parks & Recreation	$11.00 - $17.00/hr	Must be at least 18 yrs old with AEA, USWFA or A-PAI certification. Able to work mornings, evenings, & weekends.	Open until Filled.
Temporary Office Assistant - Transit	Public Works	$9.00 - $10.00/hr	Will work 30-40 flexible hours per week, Monday through Friday, generally between the hours of 12pm and 6pm, with some possible weekends at the Wabash Bus Station, 126 N. 10th St. Duties include data entry, answering questions about bus routes, scheduling paratransit rides, and handing out change. Must be HS grad with good computer skills, including familiarity with Word & Excel. Must be at least 18 yrs of age. Need to take City Clerical test & typing test by deadline. Tests take 30 minutes & must be scheduled in advance by calling 874-7235.	5pm on Friday, 5/28/08.
