The City of Columbia is committed to providing public health services that prevent epidemics and the spread of disease, protect against environmental hazards, promote healthy behaviors, prevent injuries and illness, assure the quality and accessibility of health services, monitor the health of the population, provide social services and promote and protect civil rights.

When contacting the Animal Control office with a complaint, be sure to give complete information. For instance, if you call and say, "There are a lot of dogs running loose on Wild Road," and then hang up, such information is not of great value to us. Please be prepared to give us the precise location of the alleged violation and the best possible description of the dogs. We will accept and investigate anonymous complaints. However, it is beneficial to have the names of complaining parties so that if necessary we may contact you for additional information, and keep you informed of our progress with your complaint.
