Luckily, most adults today have never witnessed a case of diphtheria, measles, or other once-common disease now preventable by vaccines. As a result you might wonder why you or your children must receive shots for diseases that do not seem to exist. Because there can be a lot of confusion and misinformation about vaccines, the Columbia/Boone County Health Department has information available on the immunizations we can provide you.
You might also want to visit our Frequently Asked Vaccine Questions page. Information includes precautions, comfort measures, misconceptions, and health department policies.
Beside the immunizations listed above, we also offer tuberculosis testing.
There is a small fee attached to immunizations however, no one will be turned away for the inability to pay.
Regular walk-in vaccinations are available every weekday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. For immigration purposes, please schedule an appointment.
