A Missouri Community – based home visiting program
Queremos hacerle saber acerca de nuestro nuevo programa.
Estamos trabajando en la comunidad Latina con mujeres embarazadas , madres primerizas, y familias con recién nacidos. Esperamos ayudarles a obtener servicios de educacion y apoyo para mejorar la salud y el bienestar de sus familias.
Cuál es el proposito de este programa?
Todo el mundo, de vez en cuando nesesita el apoyo de familiares y de la comunidad. Familias extranjeras pueden tener dificultades con una nueva cultura y sistema de salud en el pais donde viven. Es asi, especialmente cuando una mujer esta embarazada o tiene un recién nacido. Ellas nesesitan soporte mas que nunca pero no tienen sus familias ni a otras personas o instituciones que conocen para ayudarles.
Por eso, se fundó Puertas a la Salud. Tenemos trabajadoras de soporte familiar que pueden visitar a las familias en sus propias casas. Las trabajadoras Latino–americanas (bilingües) pueden ofrecer apoyo aviso y tambien pueden ayudarles a obtener otros servicios educativos y de apoyo para mejorar la salud.

No se preocupe, todo los servicios son
gratis. Este programa de Visitas al Hogar esta patrocinado por el Departamento de Salud de Missouri.
How much does it cost?
All the services we provide are free as we are supported by the Missouri Department of Health.
Why this program?
Everyone needs the help and support of family, friends and community at some time in their lives. This is especially true when a woman is pregnant or has just delivered a baby. Such a person living in a new country surrounded by people speaking a foreign language and dealing with unfamiliar institutions, is in particular need of help and support.
For this reason, Doorways to Health (Puertas a la Salud) was founded. We have family support workers ready to make home visits to offer advise and support to new and prospective parents. The family support workers are Bilingual and Latina, and have received extensive instruction in their role. They can help bridge the gap in communication to assure that all needed services are accessed to improve the health of the mother, baby and family.
