The mission of the Columbia/Boone County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is to provide well trained and organized volunteer medical, mental health, and administrative support to the community, under the direction of the Columbia/Boone County Health Department, during local health emergencies in support of the health and medical emergency operation plan, and to promote health and wellness in the community.
The Medical Reserve Corps provides an opportunity for volunteers with medical skills, mental health skills, and a variety of other specialties to provide support during public health emergency and non-emergency events and activities in Columbia/Boone County.
Our purpose is to plan for, credential (IN ADVANCE OF ANY EVENT) and organize medical volunteers in Columbia/Boone County in preparation for events and activities in which volunteers will use their professional skills. Events and activities include local, regional or national emergencies and non-emergency activities like public health education & outreach.
We ask new volunteers to create a profile on the State of Missouri's Emergency Response Volunteer Registry. This website is for medical and non-medical emergency response volunteers. When filling out a profile on Show-Me Response choose Columbia/Boone County Medical Reserve Corps under affiliation.
