Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
Certified AFAA Personal Trainer
USTF Black Belt
From my earliest memories, I've been happiest when I was "in motion". Whether I was playing tennis, softball, swimming, skiing or practicing Martial Arts, I've felt my best when I've been fit. Unfortunately, the busy lives we lead often find us pushing our health onto the back burner. I have two kids, so trust me when I say I've had some bleak fitness years. Everyone needs help sometimes, whether it's just getting back on track or to push our abilities in a particular sport. I'd love the opportunity to help. My goal for every individual I train is to try to help you to be the best "You" that you can be. Each person is different, with different goals, so I will design a workout specifically for you. Fitness doesn't have to be drudgery, and should be something you feel good about. We'll work together to find the right fit for you. I've been lucky to work with a fabulous variety of clients ranging from athletes, post rehab clients, seniors, pre-natal, new moms, individuals with disabilities, and the ever elusive "I've never been in a gym in my life" ladies. (I promise NOT to be scary.) Let's get started! |

Amanda has helped me achieve and maintain a level of physical fitness I didn't believe to be possible before we started working together 9 months ago. Her drive, dedication, extensive knowledge and experience in personal training, can-do attitude and never-ending positive outlook make her a wonderful trainer and guide in the quest to lose weight and get fit. Her belief in me helped me remain committed to my goals when I lacked belief in myself. Before working with her, I was so out of shape I couldn't walk around the ARC track once. Now I go to a circuit training group class Monday through Friday, work out at home and enjoy spinning. I would not have been able to make the progress I have without her! I feel very lucky to have had such a great ally. She is an inspiration to me. ---Megan Null, client of Amanda Barnes
I cannot recommend Amanda Barnes strongly enough. She is not only knowledgeable and well-trained herself, she comes to training sessions well prepared and, most importantly, genuinely enthusiastic about helping you reach your goals. No boring routines here. Trust her! She will help you attain lasting results. ---Joel Anderson, client of Amanda Barnes
I was hesitant to work with a personal trainer due to being out of shape and not entirely confident that I could do the work. Amanda encouraged and challenged me to do the workout, building my confidence through positive, never negative, re-enforcement. I came out of the experience physically and mentally stronger. ---Amy Schneider, client of Amanda Barnes
I was just getting back into the exercise world when I became a client of Amanda's. She made exercise not only challenging and fun, but doable. Her email tips on what to eat and drink are also helpful! Amanda cares and you soon begin to care for yourself. ---Monica Miller, client of Amanda Barnes
I have been taking Amanda’s Domination Class for almost a year. Amanda is a high-energy wonderful trainer who is tough on her clients, but also shows great care and concern for every person she trains. I am over 50 years old and was a little worried about taking a class entitled “DOMINATION”. Amanda was able to show me that by working hard and going at my own pace (with lots of reassurance from her) that I could feel as strong as a I was when I was much younger. When I started Domination, I could only do 2 push ups in a row (and that was with a lot of complaining). Now, I can do as many as 15 real push ups in a row without stopping. Amanda is a phenomenal trainer and a fun person. Thanks for the opportunity to share my experience in Amanda’s Domination Class. ---Val Leftwich, client of Amanda Barnes
My hour of personal training with Luanne is my favorite hour of the week! Luanne is a great person with a big sense of humor, so we’re usually the ones laughing over something ridiculous as we move around the gym. At the same time, she is really excellent at tailoring our sessions to meet my fitness needs. When I was hit with a long string of minor injuries and illnesses, Luanne kept me on track by tailoring each session to accommodate my changing situation. I couldn’t have pulled through that time without the support of a personal trainer, and I owe my current level of fitness to Luanne. ---Kristin Kopp, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
Although Luanne is a natural athlete, she realizes that not everyone is built that way. She is so patient with me as I fumble around trying to figure out my right foot from my left hand and the result is that I am more coordinated, more balanced, more confident and last longer in moving around through the day. Luanne helped me find the strength to lose 20 pounds and was my best cheerleader through the process. I feel younger and more energetic as a result of keeping up a regular fitness routine, which I would not do on my own. I really owe a lot to Luanne! Thanks for being my personal trainer! ---Jan McLuckie, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
A year and a half ago, I needed help fighting weight gain caused by medication and an over 50 me. I had a personal training gift certificate to the ARC, and signed up. Luanne got me, and working with her almost every week since has really helped me learn how much I can do physically. She is so good at motivating me to keep working on new things – I can run a couple of miles (when it’s not blazing hot), and ride a bike 30 miles without complaint. Luanne makes the hardest things fun, and I look forward to my time with her; what the training sessions do is keep me accountable. I show up, it’s fun and we laugh a lot. I work out on my own now, four or five times a week. Exercise is fun. Thanks, Luanne! ---Margrace Buckler, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
Since training with Luanne I have gained core strength, muscle, and balance. In addition I have lost 19 pounds. Luanne goes above and beyond for her clients. She listens to my needs and designs a workout program that best fits my individual goals. Luanne challenges me, and is highly qualified and knowledgeable in her field. If a certain activity doesn’t work for me, she has several alternatives that produce the same positive results. Luanne is always respectful and encouraging. I have recommended her to others and will continue to do so. Luanne is the best! ---Jackie Quick, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
I’ve been an ARC member for years, but always thought of the strength and training machines as mysterious torture things that only bulky guys (who look like pro wrestlers) used. Hearing me moan about my lack of muscle strength one day, a friend (also retired) said, “Contact Luanne! She’ll get you in shape.” And that’s just what happened. Some friends and I got together and nervously asked Luanne to work with us. No worries—it was a treat! She started out by determining my goal areas, took into account medical history and past experience, and came up with a step by step workout plan just for me. She took the time to explain every machine and (I really appreciated this) gave alternate ways to do each exercise with hands, weights or freestyle in case I was traveling or couldn’t make it in to the use the machines. Best of all, she monitored my progress, shared tips and gave encouragement. Her patience and sense of humor made it fun—and getting my strength back made me feel great! ---Deb Simmons, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
After enjoying several years of leisure and pleasure, I found myself overweight and out of shape. Luanne has helped me find the strength and motivation to get back on track to a healthier lifestyle, and made it fun along the way! She’s the best coach I’ve ever had! ---Bev Greeson, client of Luanne Kelley Prestigiacomo
