ABC's of On-Road Cycling

Want to ride your bicycle more often? Boost your rider confidence for on-road cycling. Learn basic safety skills for riding with traffic, helpful tips (clothing, maintenance and routes) and state laws pertaining to cyclists. Format will include classroom discussion and parking lot demonstrations. Free bike tail light to the first 25 participants who RSVP by email to email@example.com or call 441-5495. All participants will be entered to win a free two hour 1:1 bike instruction session. Classes are taught by League Certified Bicycle Instructors.
Skateboarding for Transportation and Skatepark Safety
10am–11am, Columbia Skate Park, Cosmo Park, 1615 Business Loop 70 W.
This workshop is designed for beginner level skaters wanting to pursue skateboarding for transportation as well as safe use of skateparks. Workshop topics will include equipment, drop-in and braking techniques, rules of the Columbia Skate Park and interpretation of traffic laws related to skateboarding.Workshop will be taught by Chris Bailey, Bicycle and Pedestrian Commissioner, Parkside Skateshop owner and 25 –year skateboard enthusiast.Participants 15 years and under must wear a helmet.Registration is not required.For more information call 874-7460.

Mother’s Day Cyclofemme Ride – We Ride Together!
3:00 pm Scott Blvd Trailhead, 3662 Scott Blvd.
Join GetAbout Columbia in celebrating Mother's Day and the nationwide celebration of CycloFemme -- inspiring women of all ages to ride. Women cyclists are invited to meet at the MKT Trail Scott Blvd access, for a slow-paced (10-12 mph) ride of approximately 19 miles. A shorter route of 15 miles will also be offered. You'll see highlights of Columbia's trail system, including the MKT Trail, MU Recreation Trail, Greenbriar connector, Hinkson Creek Trail (including a sneak peek at the Old Hwy 63 Pedway improvements) and the County House Branch Trail.
Plan to ride on a mix of paved and hard-packed gravel trails. Helmets are required and always a good idea! Return time will be about 4:45 pm. Call us for more information and register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The first 100 females to register will receive a "KNOG" bike tail light. All registered riders will be entered in a drawing to win one of two bicycles and bike shop gift certificates--thanks to Walt's, Cyclextreme and Tryathletics.

Join us for a slow paced, eleven-mile, round trip ride on the MKT, MU Recreation, and Hinkson Creek Trails. Trail ride will showcase the NEW Greenbriar access trail leading to residences near Green Meadows Rd. Helmets required.
Story Book Trail
Dusk to Dawn, Forum Nature Area
Head out to the Forum Nature Area and read a storybook as you walk the trail. Book trail will be available until the end of May. Pages from the book, Big Bear Hug, by Nicholas Oldland, will be spaced along the trail for you and your children to enjoy while you hike.
