Camp Adventure

Sign up for 2008 SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURE only at the ARC, 1701 W Ash beginning April 2, 2008 at 7 am. All other program registrations will be taken at either the ARC or at the Parks and Recreation office at #1 South 7th Street beginning at 8 am. Look for the Leisure Times activity guide for a complete listing of classes and programs. You can find it in the Tribune or pick up a copy at the ARC, the Parks and Recreation office (1 S 7th Street), or at the Daniel Boone Regional Library. Leisure Times is also available online. What is CAMP ADVENTURE?

CAMP ADVENTURE is a summer day camp operated by the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department. CAMP ADVENTURE strongly emphasizes outdoor living skills and awareness of nature and the environment. Camp activities encourage use of the senses and development of curiosity.

Who can attend CAMP ADVENTURE?

Enrollment is open to children who will be attending first grade in the upcoming Fall and includes children who have completed seventh grade. Campers are divided into eight units according to age. (Units may change up or down each session depending on the ages of all the campers.)

Where is CAMP ADVENTURE?

CAMP ADVENTURE is now located at the Riechmann Pavilion in beautiful Stephens Lake Park, 2300 East Walnut. Many other recreational and outdoor facilities in the Columbia area are also used.

When is CAMP ADVENTURE?

2008 Summer Registration for CAMP ADVENTURE will begin Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the ARC beginning at 7am.

Applications may be picked up beginning March 1 but cannot be accepted until April 2.

What does CAMP ADVENTURE cost?

The cost for CAMP ADVENTURE will be $205 per child per session. Escapade Week will be $102.50 per child. These sessions always fill very quickly so be sure to register early. No phone registrations can be taken for this particular program.

(A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required at registration for each session.)

Note: A spot may be reserved for sessions with a non-refundable $25 deposit each session. Balance must be received by 10:00am the Monday two weeks prior to the start of the session. Non-payment will result in cancellation of registration.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available for economically disadvantaged individuals the access to recreational facilities and programs. In order to qualify, interested participants need to be a resident of the City of Columbia, complete the application and provide documentation of all forms of income.

Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for application approval prior to registering for Camp Adventure.

What is the daily schedule?

Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Is child care available?

Before/After child care is available for an additional fee. Pre-registration is required.

Sunrise Club: 7:00am - 8:30am - $15 per session
Sunset Club: 4:30pm - 6:00pm - $15 per session
