The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is looking for qualified individuals to become a part of our award winning Aquatic Team!

Lifeguards

• Pay starts at $7.25 per hour.
• Applicants must be at least 15 years of age
• Applicants must have current International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program license.

Swim Instructors

• Pay starts at $7.50 per hour.
• Applicants must be at least 15 years of age
• Applicants must have current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.

• ARC (Activity and Recreaiton Center)
• Douglass Family Aquatic Center
• Hickman Pool
• Lake of the Woods Pool
• Oakland Family Aquatic Center
• Pirates' Landing at Twin Lakes Recreation Area

Lifeguard Certification Classes

International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training
The Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training course is designed for responsible individuals to prepare for one of the most challenging jobs ever. Lifeguarding carries the responsibility to guard, protect, and save human lives. Training will consist of shallow water, pool, and special facilities lifeguarding. Individuals will learn how to anticipate, recognize, and manage incidents in a professional manner while protecting themselves. You will also learn how to prevent accidents, submersion events, perform rescues, and give emergency care. This course includes the necessary CPR and first aid training to completely license you as a lifeguard. Participants must be at least 15 years old.

Feb 16, 17, 23, 24	9:00am - 4:00pm
March 25, 26, 27, 28	9:00am - 4:00pm
April 19, 20, 26, 27	9:00am - 4:00pm
May 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16	4:00pm - 8:00pm
June 4, 5, 6, 7	9:00am-4:00pm
Fee $150 Includes the book and license or certification card.
NOTE: Attendance at all classes is required and strictly enforced. Those missing class will not be able to pass the class.
