Interested Parties Meeting: First meeting held April 8, 2008 at the Columbia Visitors Center. Second meeting held May 15, 2008 at the ARC. Third meeting was held July 8, 2008 at the Best Western Hotel on Interstate 70 Drive.

Project Notes: Two options were presented at an interested parties meeting held April 8, 2008 wherein the public had opportunity to give input on the options. A revised plan was created from the public input received. Subsequent interested parties meetings were held May 15 and July 8. A public hearing was held and the project was approved at the November 17, 2008 Council Meeting. Construction, starting with earthwork for the playground, began June 25, 2009. Construction goals for the 2009 season are to complete grading and streambank stabilization; install the playground and safety surfacing; seed and straw for fall establishment; construct the loop trail; and if possible, construct the picnic area and walkways. Some trees may be planted this fall, but it is likely that final tree planting will be done in the spring.

Project Status: Substantially completed. Landscaping and seeding remain.
