* $20,000 mid-year appropriation from Annual Park Maintenance (Park Sales Tax) to fund the demolition (or partial demolition) of the vacant sewer treatment pump house building.
Project Description: Reclaim and restore environmentally degraded site along an important riparian forest corridor by creating wetland habitat, planting native bottomland woods, and removing invasive species. Project location is at the the old Sewer Plant #2 - MKT trail bufferland near Forum Blvd. and Chapel Hill Road.

Project Notes: The funding source was through a $40,000 3M Foundation Environmental Stewardship Grant.
Project Status: Planning in progress. A public meeting was held on September 28, 2010 at the ARC. Park staff is working with the Missouri Department of Conservation Wet Team, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and the City of Columbia Storm Water Utility Department to develop a restoration plan for the project area. Brush has been cleared from the site and the area mowed. Project was approved at the January 18, 2011 Council Meeting.
