Project Description: Re-construct Maplewood Barn, develop additional parking and other improvements to Maplewood Home/Nifong Park as funding allows.

08/31/2010 - A public meeting was held at 6:00pm at the Walter-Boone County Museum. Two options were presented: Option A, Option B.
09/01/2010 to 09/27/2010 - A web survey was conducted to gather public input on the two options.
04/14/2011 - A public planning meeting was held from 6-8pm at the ARC. Public was invited to drop in and view the proposed plan and offer their comments.

Project Notes: Council approved project June 6, 2011. Architect and engineering services (valued at $77,000) were donated to do the detailed construction plans. The Maplewood Barn Community Theater presented the City with a $60,000 donation check at the August 15, 2011 Council Meeting to help fund the project. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 30, 2011 at the last Maplewood Barn Community Theater performance to be held at Nifong Park before the re-construction of the barn. (The theater group moved to Stephens Amphitheater to finish out the season.)

Project Status: The barn construction is substantially completed. Stage lighting pole piers and conduit have been installed. Drainage, concrete walk, and stage decking construction are underway. Light poles have been delivered to site. Dedication is scheduled May 16, 2012.
