Park users can warm themselves with a bonfire during the winter sports season at the fire pit (see Fire Pit Policy) at Collins Shelter. The sled hill is nearby and ice skating is allowed on Stephens Lake when conditions permit. Wood is provided by the Parks and Recreation Department when there is snow on the ground or the lake conditions permit skating. Collins Shelter is reservable with the fire pit, except during the winter sports season.

If you would like to hold a special event using the island and island shelter, see the Shelter Reservation page.
