Donation Opportunities
at Stephens Lake Park

Stephens Lake Park is a 116-acre park located near the center of Columbia, complete with a swimming and fishing lake, picnic shelters, playgrounds, boardwalk, climate-controlled indoor shelter, hard surface trails, and arboretum features.

This park has become one of the most popular and attractive parks in the area. Because of the distinctive features at the park and its prominence in the community, Stephens Lake Park offers unique possibilities for donations. Visit the quick links below.

Stephens Lake Park

Single Table Picnic Shelters

Donate a single table picnic shelter for $2,500 and have your name, your organization, or the name of a loved one prominently displayed on a 8.5" x 11" zinc plaque fastened to the support post. Donors get to choose the wording for their plaques.

There are six single table shelters available for donation. Choose a location number from the map below, fill out a donation form, send the completed form along with your payment to the address on the order form.

Memorial/Heritage Trees

Individual Trees

Individuals or groups may donate single trees at Stephens lake Park. The cost of the tree program is $250 per tree. This includes the tree, plaque and continued maintenance of the tree. After the tree is planted, the donor will receive a certificate and map of the planting location for each tree.

Selection of tree species and locations will be chosen by the Parks and Recreation Natural Resources staff in cooperation with the individuals or group donating the tree to ensure this gift will be a long lasting tribute or memorial.

Tree Collections

One of the more unique features of Stephens Lake Park is the plan for an arboretum. The long-range master plan includes tree collections throughout the Stephens Lake Park, primarily concentrated on the eastern side. The opportunity exists to donate complete collections. Benches

Additional bench donation sites have been added at Stephens Lake Park. The cost of a bench and plaque is $500. Payment is due at the time the order is placed. Benches are made of environmentally-friendly recycled plastic lumber and are installed at approved sites in the order requests are received. Installation depends on the time of year orders are received and the number of preceding orders. The department usually installs the benches in the fall and late winter so that the benches are available during the spring and summer season. Once the bench and plaque are installed, the contact person will receive a letter of notification. Available locations are identified on the map below.
