Note: Funding for the parking lot improvements will come from Annual Roads and Parking. It is anticipated that funding for the conversion of the buildings to activity centers will come from the City's Designated Loan Fund and be primarily paid back with the lease savings from no longer renting the Stephens Lake Activity Center.

Project Description: Development of the former Missouri Department of Conservation property, including buildings and future park amenities.

Project Notes: The City of Columbia and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) entered into a Lease and Memorandum of Understanding on January 29, 2009 whereby MDC will use 18.5 acres in the northeast area of Gans Creek Recreation Area to construct and operate a regional office in exchange for the City of Columbia's use of the 106-acre Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area for public recreation purposes.

Interested Parties Meeting/Public Input:

• An interested parties meetings was held 5-7pm, January 31, 2013 at the former MDC office building, 1907 Hillcrest Drive, Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area.
• An on-line survey for interested parties to submit their comments on the plan was conducted February 7-22, 2013.

Project Status: Project was approved at the April 1, 2013 Council Meeting. Staff is preparing bid specifications.
