Funds are budgeted annually, when available, in the Capital Improvement Program for improvements to park roads and parking.This provides a funding source to upgrade existing park roads and parking lots as they deteriorate. Work often consists of asphalt overlays or sealing. New parking lots are sometimes packaged with the maintenance projects to obtain a better bid price. These improvements help maintain the quality and safety standards that have been established for park roads and parking areas. Funds not used in one fiscal year roll over to the next fiscal year.

Project Status: Frech Paving Company was awarded the asphalt bid in the amount of $82,440, PO#08157. Atkins Park entry road completed. The parking lot at Atkins Park has been re-graded to prep for asphalt work. See also Garth Nature Area Parking Lot Expansion.

Project Notes: Phase 2 of the Garth Nature Area parking lot expansion was funded out of 2009 Annual Park Roads and Parking, with a budget of $28,290. The remaining road and parking lot projects were awarded to Frech Paving company in the amount of $79,824.71, PO#091704. The second round of bids for asphalt work was also awarded to Frech Paving Company in the amount of $49,657, PO#092542.
Project Status: All 2009 road and parking lot improvement projects are completed.

Project Status: First round of bids was to complete the repair of phases 2 and 3 of the ARC parking lot, converting the lot from asphalt to concrete. Phases 1-3 of the ARC parking lot project are completed, which is about 20% of the total parking lot. The rest of the 2011 asphalt project bids were awarded in September 2011 and will be scheduled in the fall of 2011, weather permitting.
