“Planning and Development is now part of “Community Development.” Effective October 1, 2011, the Department formerly known as Planning and Development is now part of the Community Development Department. As reorganized, the Department consists of Building and Site Development, Neighborhood Services, and Planning and Zoning. The new Department is your “one stop shop” for long range planning, development review, building safety, code enforcement, volunteer programs, and neighborhood development programs.
“We are re-arranging and moving. Please “pardon our dust.” For the remainder of the calendar year, the new Community Development Department will be redesigning work spaces to accommodate the consolidation of what had been the Building and Site Development Division of Public Works, Planning and Development Department, and Office of Neighborhood Services. During this interim period, Building and Site Development will remain on the 3rd floor, Daniel Boone Building, 701 East Broadway; the Office of Neighborhood Services will remain at 3601 South Providence Road; and Planning and Zoning will be located on the 5th floor, Daniel Boone Building. Effective January 3, 2012, the offices of the complete Community Development Department will be located in the Daniel Boone Building, with offices on the 5th floor and our service center for all counter transactions on the 3rd floor.”
