NOTICE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND HEARING

FISCAL YEAR 2011 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN 

The Columbia City Council will hold a public hearing on October 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the New City Hall Building, 701 E. Broadway, to consider the City’s 2011 Annual Action Plan.  The Council will also respond to any comments concerning the plan subsequent to the October 18th meeting.  Following the hearing, public comments will be accepted until 5:00 P.M. November 7, 2010.  The final document will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for approval on November 11, 2010, along with public comment received and responses to those comments.  Please direct questions and/or comments to the Department of Planning and Development at the address listed above or e-mail: planning@gocolumbiamo.com.

The Community Development Action Plan is prepared to meet the needs, priorities, objectives, and implementation strategies as are outlined in the City’s Consolidated Plan document for the expenditure of funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the City of Columbia for calendar years 2010 through 2014.  Funds expected to be received by the City from HUD during the 2010 Plan Year are anticipated to include approximately $925,000 of Community Development Block Grant funding and $650,000 of HOME Investment Partnership Act Funding.  Proposed CDBG and HOME activities for the 2011 plan period are listed below.
