Change is in the air.

In my long tenure at the police department, I have seen much, but I've never been as excited as I am now about the direction that we're heading. Full implementation of geographic policing under Chief Burton's leadership is underway, and in the coming months and years you should be seeing really positive things happening in our community. Not just from a crime perspective, but from a customer service perspective.

I will readily admit that it's one of the areas that we have sometimes been lacking in. Yes, your police department hasn't always thought of the public they serve as customers, but that's changing too. Most of you will have very little interaction with us, but those single occasions create a huge impression about us and how we do business. We need to improve in that area, and that's why we want to hear from you about how we're doing.
