Free Drug Prevention Book

Free Book on drug prevention.

The Columbia Police Department in cooperation with L.A.W. publications out of Texas is offering a wonderful drug prevention and information book called, Lets All Work Together To Fight Drug Abuse. This book is brought to you by private donations from our local business community. It offers valuable information on tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs and their connection to domestic violence, child abuse and other social problems. This book is very informative and is a must for parents of adolescent children. Illegal drug use in America has declined as much as 50% since the late 1970's, with a slight increase in the past four years. A recent national report indicates that we did see a decrease in illegal drug use in 1998. The battle against drug abuse and its related problems is ongoing, with most studies indicating that children are less likely to have drug abuse problems if their parents take the time to talk to them about drugs. You can obtain a free copy of this book by calling the Crime Prevention Unit at 874-7405, or e-mailing your request to me at lsimons@gocolumbiamo.com.
