This is Officer Scott Hedrick and his K-9 partner Officer Urac. Officer Hedrick has been with the Columbia Police Department for over 16 years. Officer Hedrick has been a K-9 handler since 2007. K-9 Officer Urac is a 6 year old German Shepherd, and was purchased from Riverview K-9, through Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania.
Officer Hedrick is the head trainer for the Columbia Police Department, since returning from the Shallow Creek Kennels trainers course in 2013. Officer Hedrick is the Secretary for the Missouri Police Canine Association. Officer Hedrick is also a member of the National American Work Dog Association.
This is Officer Parsons and K-9 Raf. Officer Parsons has been with CPD for 13 years and has been a handler for the last 3 years. Officer Parsons and Raf are members of the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) and the Missouri Police Canine Association (MPCA). Raf is a certified police utility dog through NAPWDA. Raf is a 5 year old German Shepherd Dog and was purchased from Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania. Raf is a dual purpose K-9 and is used for patrol work and narcotics detection.
This is officer Kevin Purdy and his canine partner Duncan. Officer Purdy has been with the department since 2002 and is a new K-9 handler with the unit. Duncan is a two-year old German Shepherd and was purchased from Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania. He is a dual purpose police dog and is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and aggression. Duncan has been certified through the Missouri Police Canine Association.
Officer Ron Hall (not in picture) and his partner Leah. Officer Hall has been with the Columbia Police Department for over 16 years and been a handler for the last seven (7) years. His partner Leah is an eight (8) year old German Shepard. Officer Hall and Leah originally trained at Moore’s K9 Training Center in Amelia, VA. Ron and Leah are certified in narcotics detection by the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA).
