Columbia Police Volunteers

Columbia Police Volunteers are individuals who have graduated from a session of the Columbia Police Department’s Citizens Academy. Volunteers meet regularly and attend on-going training quarterly.

Volunteers help out in a variety of ways in and out of the police department, some of which are listed below:

• Volunteers review specific crime reports and notify Neighborhood Watch participants of events occurring in their neighborhood.
• Volunteers produce newsletters for certain police department programs.
• Volunteers assist with Citizens Academy classes.
• Volunteers assist with traffic observation.
• Volunteers help keep their neighborhoods safe by patrolling and noting suspicious activities and hazardous conditions.
