The Columbia City Council conducted a public hearing concerning the Providence Road Improvement Project during the council meeting of June 3. After the public hearing council voted to direct staff to proceed with design work using option VIII-A with two council adopted amendments. The first amendment removed the improvements to Birch St. as shown on the plan. The second amendment allowed for unrestricted intersection access at Brandon Road and Bingham Road.

The resolution passed by council examines three (3) possible options listed below -
On Monday, May 6 during the regular council meeting, council will vote on a proposed resolution to set the date of the next public hearing for this project. The proposed public hearing date is Monday, June 3. Council bill R82-13. Once council sets the public hearing date, we will update this site with the project information.
On Monday, April 15 during the regular council meeting, the council voted to rescind Phase I of the Providence Road Project. - Council bill B95-13 A
On Wednesday, March 20 an interested parties meeting was held on from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) at 1701 West Ash Street.
The public comment period closed on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:00 PM. Comments received are being complied into a report for council which is scheduled to be presented on April 15.
