A New and Improved
SCOTT BOULEVARD PHASE III - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. When is Scott Blvd Phase III scheduled to begin?
A. Construction will begin on Friday, August 28, 2015. The project is broken into two phase, Phase A and Phase B. Phase A will begin first and will involve the closure of Scott Blvd from Rt KK to just south of Leighton Dr. This also includes a section of Rt KK from Scott Blvd about 1000 feet west of Scott Blvd.
Phase A involves the building of the new round-about at Rt KK and Scott Blvd, rebuilding a portion of Rt KK from Scott Blvd west for about 1000 feet, and rebuilding Scott Blvd from Rt KK to Leighton Dr.
Q. Will street entrances onto Scott Boulevard remain open?
A. Not always. During Phase A, the following intersections will be closed:
Q. Will emergency services still be able to respond to emergency calls?
A. Yes. We have communicated the project closures with emergency services in Boone County
We have worked for almost two years with all emergency services including law enforcement, fire, and ambulance services so that they can make route adjustments. Advanced planning will allow emergency services to respond with minimal increases in response times.
Q. Will the new bridge over Millcreek be four (4) lanes?
A. No. Current projections to 2020 do not show the need currently for a four lane roadway or bridge. However, the bridge design is such that it will allow for future expansion to four lanes when and if needed.
Q. Will the new bridge over Millcreek be constructed with bike lanes on one or both sides?
A. Yes. The bridge is designed and will be built with bike lanes on both the north and south-bound sides of the bridge as well as the entire length of the Phase III construction. Phase III will be designed with bike lanes and sidewalks as well.
Q. Will the new roadway have sidewalks and pedways?
A. Yes. There will be over 4 miles of new sidewalks and pedways constructed as part of this project.
