(April 28, 2015) Aplex, Inc was awarded the construction contract for this project. Aplex, Inc's bid was $690,125. Construction is anticipate to begin by the end of May with substantial completion before mid-August, 2015. Further details will be posted soon as will regular progress reports once construction begins.
At the regularly scheduled city council meeting on Monday, May 19, a public hearing was held to discuss and accept feedback on the proposed College Avenue Safety Enhancement project . After public and staff discussion, the city council voted to authorize Public Works to proceed with "Option A" which is a raised median with stone and weather resistant fencing on top, two mid-block crossings with HAWK signals, and the removal of left turns from College onto Rosemary, Wilson, and Bouchelle. The project will now move into final design phase with construction anticipated to begin in late spring of 2015 after the University of Missouri winter semester.
