On September 22, 2014, the City Council adopted changes to the voucher system which will reduce the number of black refuse bags each customer is allotted. Beginning October 1, 2014, customers will receive two (2) black bag vouchers, for a total of fifty (50) black refuse bags annually.
Customers will continue to receive three (3) vouchers for blue recycling bags annually.
Please watch for additional information concerning the time of year which vouchers will be mailed.
Vouchers are redeemable for blue recycling bags and black trash bags at participating Columbia merchants.
The City of Columbia issues vouchers to residents which may be redeemed for recycling and trash bags. Look for your voucher in the mail to obtain your black trash and blue recycling bags. You can help us reduce costs by redeeming the voucher only when you need additional bags...help us reduce our carbon footprint!
What should I do if I did not get a Voucher? If you expected to receive a voucher and did not, please contact WasteZero, Inc. at 1-800-866-3954, or click on the link below to be directed to their website to send them an email. New residents moving to Columbia will automatically receive a voucher within three weeks of signing up for city utility services.

As of August 4, 2014 Menards at 3400 Vandiver Drive will no longer carry trash or recycling bags which can be procured with a WasteZero voucher. We appreciate the many years Menards partnered with the City of Columbia.
