Welcome to the City of Columbia Public Works Department! The Public Works staff is dedicated to providing customer-friendly service while maintaining the City’s infrastructure, protecting the public's safety and the environment, and providing transportation opportunities to residents and area businesses. Public Works follows the City of Columbia's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Strategic Priorities and detailed Strategic Plan to guide our efforts. We are an American Public Works Association (APWA) accredited agency.

We're working hard to complete the projects we've promised our customers we would perform through voter approved bond and tax ballots or via council direction by ordinance. Remaining 2015 Holiday Refuse and Recycling Collection Dates
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day following these 2015 holidays with the exception of the observed holiday date for Independence Day, Friday, July 3 -
Please do not set trash and recycling materials out on these holidays and please do not set trash and recycling materials out until after 4:00 p.m. the day prior to your collection day. Help us keep Columbia Clean.
The utilities below are now a division of City Utilities. More information and web changes will soon reflect the organizational changes approved by the Columbia City Council and effective October 1, 2015
