COLUMBIA, MO (September 2, 2008) - The Vision Showcase will be Thursday, September 4, from 4-8 p.m., Missouri Theatre at the Center for the Arts, 203 South Ninth. The Vision
Showcase will highlight current vision accomplishments, review further implementation actions, connect the people and resources necessary to continue to move visioning forward and lay the foundation for future vision events. Held in conjunction with Twilight Festival, this vision celebration includes the following events and entertainment schedule.
Ongoing from 4 - 8 p.m. - This information fair will focus on the Arts, Downtown, Education, Health, Airport, Planning and Development. It is an opportunity to pick up information, ask questions and forge new partnerships with groups actively involved in turning vision goals into reality.
Ongoing from 4 - 8 p.m. – There will be a vision kiosk that will provide information on current vision accomplishments, plans for future events and the establishment of a vision commission. There will be opportunities to learn more about vision actions and implementation provide feedback and commit to moving the vision plan forward.
4:15 - 5:20 p.m. - Communications skills building session: "Ask The Right Question." This is an opportunity to learn a useful technique for building positive dialogue in any organization.
5:30 - 6:15 p.m. - Citizen Topic Group Reunions:
This is a chance to hear from former vision topic group members who have already accomplished vision-related projects. It also gives former vision participants and the public-at-large a chance reconnect with the vision plan and review upcoming meetings that will focus on specific vision topics.
6:30 - 7:45 p.m. - Conversation Café:
Includes facilitated discussion tables where people connect vision ideas, resources and the actions needed to turn vision goals into reality.
Local bands take to the stage at the Missouri Theatre
There will be door prize drawings and "minute at the microphone" opportunities after each set. There will be refreshments and fun for everyone. It is a great opportunity to visit the new Columbia Art League Gallery and to visit the beautifully restored Missouri Theatre.
