Renewable energy conference focuses on economic development
(Columbia,MO) - Speakers at the Advancing Renewables in theMidwestconference will discuss how renewable energy is putting more Missourians to work. The conference will be held onMarch 30, 2011from7:30 amto4:40 pm in the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center on the Universityof Missouri–Columbia campus. Topics covered by the speakers will range from locating businesses and manufacturing jobs with renewable energy to biomass energy development. There will be speakers from the American Wind Energy Industry Association, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, legislators and renewable energy companies.
The cost of the conference is $75 for the general public and $100 for energy professionals. Registration can be accomplished online at AdvancingRenewables.org or by calling (573) 882-4349 or emailing muconf3@missouri.edu. A list of speakers and topics can also be found on the Web site. Reporters covering the event for a story need to check in at the registration desk the day of the conference.
The sixth annual Advancing Renewables in theMidwestconference is hosted by Columbia Water & Light and theUniversityofMissouri’s Department of Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences. Sponsors for the event are Tradewind Energy, Iberdola and Nordic WindPower.
