Columbia Public Works announces that East Walnut Street between College Avenue and Orr Street will be closed to all through traffic from 8:00 am on Thursday, January 31 through 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 12.

The closure is to allow for utility work related to the new Short Street parking structure and the apartment complex on East Walnut.

Detours will be clearly marked. Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrians should find alternate routes, expect delays, and use caution in the construction areas.

This closure will effect several Columbia Transit routes. Detour information for transit buses will follow in a separate press release.
