Discovering how green energy works in the Midwest will be the focus of the Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference. Featured speaker Paul Komor from the University of Colorado will discuss how renewables can be an essential component of a utility offering reliable, clean and low cost power. Other speakers from across the nation will address how utilities, legislators and private entities are embracing renewable energy. Successes in energy efficiency will also be covered at this conference.
The cost of the conference is $60 for the general public and $110 for energy professionals. After March 25, the cost goes up to $75 and $125 respectively. A list of speakers and topics can also be found on the Web site. Reporters covering the event for a story need to check in at the registration desk the day of the conference.
The eigth annual Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference is hosted by Columbia Water & Light, the University of Missouri's Department of Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
