(Columbia, MO) - The City of Columbia's Community Development Department Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS), in conjunction with the Mid-Missouri Solid Waste District, is sponsoring a recycling drop-off event on Saturday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Columbia/Boone County Department of Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St. ONS is covering the cost of the event so the drop-off of items can be free to the public. Items eligible for drop-off are:
Tires: Whole tires are banned from landfills in Missouri. Bring your used tires so they can be recycled properly.
E-Waste: Eligible electronic products include computers, TVs, cell phones and printers.
Please Note: Household hazardous waste items such as paint, motor oil and cleaning solutions will NOT be collected at this event. The HHW facility at the Grissum Building, 1313 Lakeview Ave., will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on November 16 for the collection of these items.
The Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS), part of the City of Columbia's Community Development Department, helps to strengthen neighborhoods through the licensing and inspection of rental properties, proactive code enforcement, volunteer programs and services, grant-supported housing and community development programs, and encouragement of public involvement with their neighborhoods.
