Contact: Columbia Public Works
Columbia Public Works crews worked overnight treating residential streets with salt, and maintaining passable conditions on 1st and 2nd priority routes for customers. Efforts for subdivisions started in the center of the city early Saturday morning and are working outward, with approximately 35% of residential roads already treated with salt.
Crews will continue to work around the clock until all residential streets have been treated. Roads still waiting to be treated are still very slick, but priority routes are generally passable, except for a few spotty slick spots. Customers should use extreme caution with any travel today.
Public Works is tracking the possibility for more precipitation entering the area Monday night and Tuesday and making the necessary preparations.
Customers took to the City's social media pages for updates on road progress and to comment on the roads. A progress map for residential streets is available on www.comosnow.com
