Lower snow totals but higher freezing rain and sleet totals have still made roads very slick. Overnight and currently crews are applying a dry and liquid salt combination on priority roads. Very low temperatures, under 10 degree's, dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the salts.
Residential and secondary roads are very slick, and for pedestrians, sidewalks, driveways, and other walking surfaces pose a slip hazard.
Forecasters do say a round of snow by mid-morning could still produce several inches of snow on top of the ice.
As this is above the criteria for no parking on snow routes, we still encourage motorist not to park on snow routes to avoid potential enforcement actions.
Motorist should use extreme caution with a glazing of ice now on many roads.
