American Airlines will begin a second daily nonstop flight between Columbia Regional Airport and Chicago O'Hare on Tuesday, April 2.
The new flight consists of two legs, a daily 6:00 am departure from COU to ORD, and a 6:35 pm departure from ORD arriving at COU at 7:45 pm. The new flight compliments the existing flight which departs COU for ORD at 1:40 pm and returns from ORD to COU at 4:55 pm. The new flight will also provide additional options for connecting flights out of ORD to destinations worldwide.
City and American Airlines representatives will officially launch the new flight with a ceremony and ribbon cutting by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 2 at Columbia Regional Airport. Mayor Pro tem Barbara Hoppe and American Airlines representative Don Morris will deliver brief remarks prior to the ribbon cutting.
