City offices will be closed July 4 (revised)
COLUMBIA, MO (June 27, 2014)
City offices will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
- Refuse and recycling collection for Friday will be delayed until Saturday. The landfill will be closed Friday. Questions should be directed to the Public Works Solid Waste Division at 874-6291.
- Columbia Transit will run with modified hours July 4. Service will begin at 2 p.m., be suspended 8-10 p.m. during Fire in the Sky and resume for the final route run at 10:15 p.m. from the Wabash terminal.
- Parking meters will not be enforced. Parking will not be permitted on the surface lot at 5th and Cherry from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. July 4. Vehicles parked on this lot after 5 p.m. will be towed at the owner's expense. This lot is a required safety zone for the fireworks discharge site for Fire in the Sky.
- Parking will not be permitted in the 6th and Cherry parking garage from 7 p.m. July 3 to 11:30 p.m. July 4. Vehicles parked in this garage during this time will be towed at the owner's expense. This garage is a required safety zone for the fireworks discharge site for Fire in the Sky.
