The City of Columbia Utility Customer Service Division will extend phone service hours to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for a trial period from July 14 through Sept. 5. The added hours are intended to provide better customer service and minimize hold times during regular 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours. The extended phone service hours will be provided with a limited staff and will be limited to establishing new services, discontinuance of services, transferring existing services or making payment agreements on current utility bills.
