The city of Columbia Solid Waste Division announces that Mid-MO Recycling will collect used electronics as part of its effort to save landfill space through environmentally-friendly recycling. Collections will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Home Depot parking lot at 3215 Clark Lane.
Items accepted at no charge include CPUs, printers, keyboards, computer mice, laptops, wire, cables, hard drives, cell phones, pagers, washing machines, stoves, radios, satellite dishes, scanners, speakers, DVD players, VCRs, fax machines, telephones, answering machines, car batteries, dryers and stereos. Other items accepted at a small fee include monitors, portable televisions, console televisions, copiers and microwaves. Refrigerators and hazardous materials will not be accepted at this collection event.
