The City of Columbia, Mayor Bob McDavid, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, REDI and local businesses and organizations came together today at Lucky's Market on South Providence to announce the application period for the Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement (MCPA) Award Program.
"In establishing the MCPA award program, we hope to raise awareness, promote environmental responsibility and to highlight the great work being done by businesses and organizations here in Columbia," said Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid. "We encourage Columbia businesses and organizations to apply and look forward to recognizing the recipients early next year."
The MCPA award program is sponsored in part by Lucky's Market. Lucky's Market seeks the freshest local, organic, sustainable and traditionally crafted foods made with purpose and pride to sell in our stores. Lucky's also passionately supports local farmers and organic foods with a garden-to-table belief that celebrates our neighbors in the community.
"Lucky's Market is proud to partner with the City of Columbia to highlight the great work our fellow businesses are undertaking to create a more sustainable community," said Bo Sharon, founder and CEO of Lucky's Market. "We look forward to fostering this important conversation both in our store and around family tables across Columbia."
