COLUMBIA, MO (January 31, 2011) -
Due to the impending snowstorm and predictions of a historic snowfall, several city services through the Public Works Department will be impacted this week.
- There will be no trash or recycling collection on Tuesday or Wednesday. Please note for these two days service has been canceled, not delayed. If your trash and recycling are normally picked up on Tuesday or Wednesday, your normal pick-up will resume next week. At this time, we expect to be running on Thursday, however, service could be slower than normal due to road conditions.
- The sanitary landfill will close at noon on Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.
- Columbia Transit and ParaTransit will not operate on Tuesday or Wednesday. Bus service will return on Thursday, but may be running on the emergency weather schedule depending on road conditions. A notice will be sent as we are able to update conditions.
- Building and Site Development will be closed, so building permits and other related services will not be available on Tuesday or Wednesday.
- The electronic waste collection originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Home Depot parking lot, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later time.
While we expect to be back to a normal schedule on Thursday, please stay tuned to your local media services for updates.
