The new parking garage at 5th and Walnut will officially open to the public on Tuesday, March 1. The new garage consists of 703 parking spaces -- 120 hourly, 440 covered permit, 82 uncovered permit, 13 disabled and 48 below grade for Columbia Police Department use. Permits may now be purchased for those who need long-term parking downtown.
Permits can be purchased at City Hall on the 3rd floor, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Permit holders who wish to move from their current parking space into the new garage are encouraged to begin exchanging their permits. For more information on parking permits, please contact the Public Works Department at (573) 874-7250.
