Fire Department Employee Wins National Honor
COLUMBIA, MO (October 3, 2012) -
Columbia Fire Department Lieutenant and Assistant Fire Marshal Tim Bach was awarded the Volunteer of the Year by the national non- profit wish granting organization, The Dream Factory. The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented each year in memory of Stephen Douglas, the founder of the Memphis chapter, who died of cancer in his late twenties.Bach was chosen due to his local efforts withe the Central Missouri chapter, and serving on the National Board of Directors.
Bach has been a member of the Central Missouri Dream Factory for the last five years, assisting with local fundraising and the granting of nearly 70 dreams to local children. He has served on the National Board of Directors for the past two years. CEO Anne Bunger says "Tim is a dedicated volunteer whose commitment to making a difference in the lives of children in need has not gone unnoticed. He is an example of what volunteerism is all about so, fittingly, is presented with this award."
