The city of Columbia's Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS), in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, is pleased to announce a neighborhood cleanup event with the Columbia Regency Mobile Home Park this Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Regency management recently approached ONS with the idea of developing a proactive event that would help address multiple city health and property maintenance code issues in the mobile home park. In the past year, well over 200 violations including trash, abandoned vehicles and deteriorated mobile home conditions have been cited. Saturday's project will involve neighbors living in Columbia Regency working together to remove trash and any oversized items from the premises to help make the park an even better place to live.
The Office of Neighborhood Services is interested in working with other neighborhoods throughout the city on these type of voluntary compliance activities. In addition to bringing properties to code, these events build neighborhood pride and strengthen personal relationships.
