The Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health is holding its annual Fitness Award ceremony at 6 p.m. on November 1. The ceremony will be held at Columbia City Hall.

Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid will recognize individuals and organizations who have made a commitment to their personal health or who have inspired others around them. Winners were nominated for the awards in different categories.

The mission of the Mayor's Council is to improve the physical fitness and health, and enhance the quality of life of all citizens of Columbia and Boone County. It is administered through Parks and Recreation. Members are appointed by City Council.
