The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services' WIC program recently received a Certificate of Excellence from the Missouri WIC Association. WIC, or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and health care/community resource referrals to participants. Additionally, Public Health and Human Services officials signed the annual WIC contract to provide WIC services in Boone County again in 2013.
WIC applications can be processed over the phone by calling 573-874-7384 or in person at the WIC office, located inside Public Health and Human Services at 1005 West Worley in Columbia, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
