Pre-Sponsors Council Organizational Meeting Summary

Sponsors Council began by electing a Chair.  It was decided that Mayor Darwin Hindman would serve as Chair of the Sponsors Council.  Assistant City Manager, Paula Hertwig Hopkins gave an overview of the vision process as well as proposed outcomes and milestones.  She then shared the roles and responsibilities of the Sponsors Council.  Those are to be champions of the process, to select and recommend a consultant for hire to the City Council, selection of the 2 Vision Committee Co-Chairs, finalization of Citizen Topic Groups and to review and recommend the final Vision Plan to the City Council. 

September 6th was chosen as the Sponsors Council Kick-Off event.  It will begin with a press conference and group photo followed by presentations from the consultants.  The kick-off will be a public meeting and the public will be invited to submit questions during the question and answer portion of the meeting.  The Sponsors Council will then select and recommend a final consultant for hire to the City Council to be approved at their next meeting on September 18th.  Sponsors Council will also make announcements of upcoming events for the vision process such as the community-wide survey, applications for Vision Co-Chairs and Citizen Topic Group Co-Facilitators and the Fall Vision Festivals.
